Bouncing around in this skull of mine are often a few strange things. These I call Plaid Spots.
They are, as George Carlin would say, "The things that kept me out of all the
good
colleges." Strange to say, I would no longer say this. At one point, maybe, but, I've come
to appreciate the education I've already gotten and am currently getting. So, as a testament to
all the things that kept me out of all the colleges who wouldn't appreciate them anyway, here's
the raw content of the PlaidScape:
Rants: Also known as "Monologues on slightly controversial topics,"
these are the direct result of things bouncing around in my head and finally making it to paper.
I start with an idea... ...and pages later I end up with this... Can you see what's left? Do I
have a point? Is it worth your time to read? Am I just some wacko with too much time on my hands?
You decide, and then tell me what you think!
Humor: What's a mathematician without a bit of humor? Well, he's a
better one, those in certain circles might claim... ...Well, I guess I'll settle for mediocrity
then; here's my humor. Read it and weep. Or don't. But, beware, just because you don't read it
doesn't mean you won't hear it...
Ye Olde Picks of the Day: As those who know me well have likely
noticed, I've got a strange ear for music. Yes, I'm talking about oldies. Now, whether you think
they are good or not... ...Well that's up to you. But, every once in a while, I come across a
song that just hits me in a particular kind of way. These become 'Ye Olde Picks of the Day'. I'll
post lyrics to these rare few songs, and open it up for discussion. Thoughts?
Quotes: As many a Mesa State Math Club member will claim, I've got
more quotes than I know what to do with. Well, that claim is true... ...I don't know what to do
with them all. Unfortunately, I've not had time to format them all nicely yet either, so...
...They're not likely to show up here quite yet. What I do have here are my quotes, quotes from my
friends, and a selection of those I've picked up here and there in my travels. Have a quote of
your own you'd like to add? Let me know!
